She picked up her phone and dialed a series of digits that made a mobile device ring in the shadows of Hollywood.
It was a late Friday afternoon, and Hilliary Barbour asked this writer if he had time to chat with her about her latest Bollywood-themed project.

A bubbly sounding woman with quite the attractive voice, this writer told Hilliary he set this very moment aside to chat with her.
Almost immediately, a rapport and comfort level was established — so much so that anyone listening in on the conversation would have believed the two parties talking had known each other for years.
With laughter, jokes and positive vibes galore, it was not long before Hilliary revealed quite the interesting nickname attached to her by these so-called Hollywood “pundits,” with the exact identity of said pundits left entirely unknown during the 30-minute phone conversation.
“So what, exactly, was this nickname?” this writer asked Hilliary.
“A foul-mouth Betty Boop meets the elegant, exotic Rosario Dawson,” she said, followed by quite an innocently cute laugh.
Quite the mouthful but perhaps accurate when one considers Hilliary is not just an exotically beautiful woman with the right touch of class but also an entertainer who can make one laugh on a moment’s notice.
“I am kind of corny and goofy as well,” the aspiring actress who also starred in a recent episode of The Bold and The Beautiful added.
That’s not all either.
In addition to making people laugh with her “corny and goofy” and otherwise “foul-mouthed” wit, Hilliary is also turning heads with her stunning good looks that root from just about every corner of the Earth.
With a smorgasbord of ethnicities already under her belt, the Hollywood actress known as Hilliary Barbour might as well add Indian to her diverse list of backgrounds.
Already sporting culturally ethnic roots such as French Indonesian, German Jewish, Irish, Apache, Cherokee and black, Barbour is about to be adopted by the Indians after accepting her latest role as a leading actress in the upcoming flick The Bollywood Boys.
Featuring Colin Nemec (Parker Lewis Can’t Lose) and David Faustino (Married…With Children) as two out-of-luck Hollywood directors seeking fortunes in Bollywood, Barbour landed a role written specifically for her by the film’s brain trust of Al Gomez and James Bills.

In playing an integral role in a comedy film about two has-been characters, Barbour thinks she landed in a perfect storm for her career as she seeks to establish herself as an actress who can make people laugh with ease.
“I see myself as a comedic actress,” she amicably told Buzzine. “I can do the serious roles, but I love making people laugh. I don’t mind being the brunt of the jokes, as long as people are happy laughing.”
It was a skill Hilliary truly believes she possesses, and a skill she further believes will take her very far in her acting career.
Such comedic talents were definitely of value to Gomez and Bills, both of whom wrote Hilliary’s role specifically for her traits, highlighting her greatest assets in the script of The Bollywood Boys.
Indeed, Gomez and Bills felt they were on to something when they met Hilliary at an audition for one of their earlier projects in 2007 as the film-making duo was casting for their to-be-produced short film, Privateer.
“Both together are like little boys,” Hilliary jokingly told Buzzine, adding that one filmmaker is rather calm and tame while the other is a little more jazzed. “Both have a very different style of working; both have a great sense of humor.”
Yet, despite perceiving them as having different approaches to their respective roles as filmmakers, Hilliary believes both were on the same page in recognizing what they saw in her.
“They got to see my quirky and goofy self,” she said of her budding relationship with Gomez and Bills.
It was a relationship that, while flourishing off the screen, may result in Hilliary’s probable success on the screen – starting with her role as an office manager in The Bollywood Boys.
Hilliary told Buzzine her role not only places her in a good light but also opens up a whole new world beyond Hollywood and Bollywood.
“It’s good to keep a broad perspective,” she humbly informed Buzzine of her upcoming role and involvement with The Bollywood Boys. “I am multi-ethnic myself, so I always know to not look at things in a small sense. You realize there is a huge world out there that is bigger than just here.”

Still keeping in tune with her own multi-cultural background, Hilliary managed to find the time to keep up with Bollywood, especially when she was exposed to the popular film industry as a child growing up in countries well beyond the shores of the United States.
“Growing up, I saw Bollywood and I loved all the colors and watching all the music videos,” she excitedly said. “I didn’t always understand the words, but I always understood the stories.”
Fast-forward to today, the 20-something-year-old actress now believes she has the right worldly perspective to perfectly play the role given to her in The Bollywood Boys.
“I think I can definitely play different ethnic parts,” Hilliary humbly told Buzzine, adding that her diverse ethnic and cultural background is quite the asset. “It shows in my face, my hair, and my personality — I have a little bit of everything.”
She goes on to point out that her open-mindedness and heightened cultural awareness has quite a strong presence in the script, itself laced with witty humor. Accordingly, Hilliary believes The Bollywood Boys will be an eye-opening experience for moviegoers.
“The movie is really funny, and it will cross cultural barriers and open people’s minds,” she said with humility and candor.
Just as importantly, however, the film will also open people’s eyes to Hilliary Barbour. If The Bollywood Boys plays well and the young actress plays her cards right, she may continue to find herself crossing cultural barriers while making people laugh.
